Approx 8km Low Tide 08:30am. Walk Moderate to Hard

Enjoy stunning views of Kitty Miller Bay includes a headland view of the shipwreck SS Speke. Walk the Beach to Summerland.  Traverse the uneven rocky trail between the beaches so will need to take our time approximately 15 minutes.  Use of walking poles advised.

Carpark at end of Pier Rd Grantville. If sealed carpark is full / too crowded, park in the gravel carpark adjacent to the jetty.

 A mostly easy walk at Grantville checking out the views and barking dogs on Tatiana Drive & Arcadia Rd. Our morning tea (and toilet stop) is at the Transaction Station before we head on for another kilometre or two along Stewart St and Malcolm Drive, before walking back along the firm sand to the cars.

The walk is approximately 9km.

Mouth of the Powlett River - Long walkers

Mouth of the Powlett River Road Kilcunda. 9.15am for 9.30 walk.
Across the single lane bridge in the car park adjacent to Caravan Park.
Details

We will endeavour to undertake the walk that was an epic fail back in Nov 2025.

Proceeding up towards the desalination plant we will loop down a tee tree track to the Powlett River then head to the beach. Watching for incoming waves, there will be a a couple of Km's of firm sand walking (hopefully) then a break at Williamson's beach before proceeding to the southern side of the Desal plant reserve and its wide walking trails.

Approx 6km in a rough figure of 8 route.

Nearest toilets are - Kilcunda.
